Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the importance of Pakistan’s longstanding partnership with Japan during a meeting with a delegation led by Dr. Tanaka Akihiko, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), in Islamabad. He highlighted Pakistan’s progress in overcoming economic challenges and ongoing reforms aimed at sustainable growth.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif underscored the government’s focus on equipping youth with skills and technical training, providing employment opportunities, and empowering women. He also noted the prioritization of the minerals sector and welcomed JICA’s technical cooperation in this area. Additionally, he mentioned reforms in the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to enhance its role in supporting businesses.

Dr. Akihiko expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s leadership and its efforts for peace in the Middle East, reflecting the international community’s recognition of these efforts.
