Islamabad, April 13, 2023 (PPI-OT): Pakistan and Uzbekistan have agreed on timely completion of Trans-Afghan Railways project among Pakistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan saying that it will enhance regional connectivity.
The understanding to this effect was reached at a meeting between Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hina Rabbani Khar and Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Saidov Baxtiyor Odilovich on the sidelines of the 4th meeting of the neighbouring countries of Afghanistan in Samarkand today.
During the meeting, the two Ministers exchanged views on the friendly relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan across all domains, especially connectivity, trade and investment and people to people contacts.
Both sides expressed satisfaction at the current trajectory of bilateral exchanges in the economic, trade and investment domains. Early operationalization of Preferential Trade Agreement between Pakistan and Uzbekistan was also discussed in the meeting with a view to further enhancing bilateral trade.
