Washington DC, Masood Khan, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, emphasized the enduring educational ties between Pakistan and the US during an interaction with mid-career Pakistani professionals in Washington. These professionals, currently in the US under the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program, are pursuing their studies across various disciplines in leading American universities.
According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Khan highlighted the unique opportunity for Pakistani students and professionals to benefit from globally recognized American educational institutions and refine their expertise for enhanced service delivery. The Ambassador mentioned that following the post-withdrawal period, the two nations have adjusted their relationship dynamics and are continuously working to fortify their collaboration in key sectors.
While addressing the public sector professionals, Khan stressed the importance of studying and assimilating best practices from US public sector institutions to improve service quality in Pakistan. The Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program annually offers mid-career professionals from developing nations, including Pakistan, a year of study and professional experience in the US. Participants are chosen based on their potential for national leadership and dedication to public service. This year, 17 Pakistani professionals were chosen for the fellowship.
Ambassador Khan expressed the view that these students serve as ambassadors for Pakistan in the US. He emphasized their responsibility to accurately represent their country and foster new connections between professionals from both nations. He concluded by wishing the professionals a fruitful stay in the US.
