Pakistan urges UNHRC to hold India accountable for its crimes in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir

Islamabad, June 23, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan has urged the UN Human Rights Council to ensure realization of fundamental rights of the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan’s envoy to the United Nations Khalil Hashmi told the 47th session of the Geneva-based Council that the situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir has further deteriorated as a result of New Delhi’s illegal actions of 5th August 2019.

The Pakistani envoy also called for holding India accountable for its widely documented human rights crimes in the valley. He said the global flag-bearers of human rights should practice what they preach. Khalil Hashmi India said India continues to defy the UN Security Council resolutions and the Fourth Geneva Convention by accelerating the pace of demographic engineering of the disputed territory.
