Islamabad, October 30, 2021 (PPI-OT):Pakistan has urged the developed countries to financially help the developing countries, which are hosting large number of refugees, and also offer the option of resettlement in the third countries.
Participating in an interactive dialogue with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi in the General Assembly’s Committee, Pakistani delegate Saima Saleem said the international community needs to provide adequate and sustainable financial support in line with the principle of responsibility sharing for the Afghan refugees in the neighbouring countries. She also conveyed Pakistan’s concern over the deteriorating humanitarian conditions in Afghanistan and called for immediate steps to rectify the situation.
