New York: Pakistan has called for revitalizing the work of the UN General Assembly to strengthen global governance. Speaking during the UN General Assembly plenary meeting on the implementation of UN resolutions and revitalization of the work of the Assembly in New York, Acting Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN, Usman Jadoon, emphasized the significance of the General Assembly as the only principal organ with universal membership. He highlighted the necessity for the UN General Assembly to assume a more prominent role in the development of international law.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the acting Pakistan UN Ambassador also stressed the importance of enhancing the General Assembly’s effectiveness in maintaining international peace and security. He advocated for stronger coordination between the Assembly and the Security Council to ensure a more cohesive approach toward global issues. The call for a revitalized General Assembly underscores Pakistan’s commitment to advancing international cooperation and addressing global challenges through multilateral platforms.
