Islamabad, In a strong rebuke, Pakistan has renewed its call for India to halt its ongoing efforts to intimidate the population of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The plea comes amidst continuing tensions and escalating actions against local activists in the region.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during her weekly media briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized the urgent need for the people of Jammu and Kashmir to exercise their right to self-determination, a principle upheld by UN Security Council resolutions.
Baloch highlighted recent incidents in the Shopian district, where Indian authorities sealed properties including lands and a shop belonging to two Kashmiri youth, as part of a broader campaign to suppress dissent and punish Kashmiri activists. She revealed that hundreds of properties have been confiscated across the occupied territory to this end.
