Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed significant concern over what it describes as a rise in Islamophobic incidents in India. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson highlighted these concerns in response to media queries, urging the Indian government to ensure the rights and safety of all its citizens, regardless of their religious affiliation.
The spokesperson emphasized that the targeting of Muslims through hate speech and discriminatory actions, allegedly with state complicity, has become a pressing issue for the international community. The statement underscored the need for India to address these concerns to maintain communal harmony and regional stability.
Pakistan’s foreign ministry called for restraint and reconciliation, warning that the deliberate incitement of religious hatred for political or ideological gains contravenes international human rights obligations. The statement appeals to India to foster an environment that promotes peace and stability in the region.
