Karachi: Pakistan has thrown its support behind a United Nations resolution concerning the ongoing conflict in Congo, advocating for a peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomacy.
According to a statement by Press Information Department, Pakistan’s Alternate Permanent Representative to the U.N., Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad, addressed the U.N. Security Council, stressing the importance of recognizing that there is no military solution to the conflict. He urged all parties involved to prioritize peace and mediation processes.
Ambassador Ahmad’s remarks highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to international peace efforts and the need for diplomatic channels to be at the forefront of resolving the issues in Congo, aligning with the broader goals of the United Nations.
