Pakistan Urges Ceasefire and Humanitarian Efforts in Sudan


UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has called for a ceasefire, accountability, and humanitarian intervention amid the ongoing crisis in Sudan.



According to a statement by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, voiced concern at a UN Security Council briefing on the International Criminal Court’s report concerning the Darfur region. He specifically condemned an attack by the Rapid Support Forces on the Saudi Hospital in Al-Fasher.



Akram urged the conflicting parties in Sudan to adhere to their commitments under the Jeddah Declaration. This agreement emphasizes the protection of civilians and the facilitation of humanitarian assistance to meet the urgent needs of the Sudanese population.
