Pakistan Urges Accountability for India at UN Over Kashmir Dispute

New York: Pakistan has formally challenged India’s portrayal of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir at the United Nations, asserting that India’s narrative is an attempt to shift focus from its own internal issues and violations of international norms.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during the UN Security Council’s open debate on “Peace through Leadership,” Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Pakistan, Gul Qaiser Sarwani, dismissed the claims presented by the Indian delegation as unfounded. Sarwani emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is recognized internationally as a disputed territory and has been a subject of the UN Security Council’s agenda for more than seventy-five years.

He stated that India must be held accountable for its unlawful activities in the region, reinforcing Pakistan’s stance on seeking a resolution in line with international law and UN resolutions.
