Pakistan to Showcase Climate Resilience at COP-29, Says PM’s Climate Coordinator


Islamabad: Romina Khurshid Alam, the Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change, has committed to actively presenting Pakistan’s strategies for addressing climate vulnerabilities at the upcoming 29th session of the Conference of Parties (COP-29). The announcement came during the first meeting of the Prime Minister’s Committee on COP-29, which took place in Islamabad today.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the meeting centered on preparing for Pakistan’s robust participation in the COP-29 event, scheduled from November 11 to 22 in Baku. Alam emphasized the importance of developing a detailed action plan in collaboration with various federal and provincial departments to effectively highlight Pakistan’s climate resilience initiatives.



The Prime Minister’s aide underscored the ongoing efforts across the country, from federal to provincial levels, aimed at building resilience against climate change. She also announced that the preparation committee would meet weekly for consultations with experts from relevant ministries, organizations, and provinces to refine Pakistan’s presentation and initiatives for the conference.
