Pakistan to Outline Stance at ICJ on Israel’s Policies in Occupied Palestinian Territory

Islamabad, Pakistan is set to articulate its perspective at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the advisory proceedings on the legal consequences of Israel’s policies and practices in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East Jerusalem. Caretaker Minister for Law and Justice, Ahmed Irfan Aslam, has been designated to present the country’s position at the court.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the proceedings are a response to a request made by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2022, seeking an advisory opinion from the ICJ on the matter. Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch detailed the context and purpose of Pakistan’s involvement in the statement issued today, highlighting the international community’s concern over the implications of Israel’s actions in the disputed territory.
