Pakistan to Observe ‘Youm-e-Tashakur’ in Celebration of Military Success


Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that Pakistan will observe ‘Youm-e-Tashakur’ this Sunday, following the success of Operation Bunyan Marsoos. The day is set aside to express gratitude for the country’s response to Indian military actions.



The announcement, made through a statement from the Media Wing of the Prime Minister’s Office, highlights the nation’s intent to honor the armed forces and recognize the collective unity demonstrated during the response.



Operation Bunyan Marsoos is credited with effectively countering Indian aggression, showcasing Pakistan’s defense capabilities. The Prime Minister emphasized the country’s resilience and readiness, which he said reinforced Pakistan’s standing.



In addition to the day’s observance, PM Sharif called on citizens and religious leaders to engage in collective prayers and Nawafils—voluntary prayers—as a gesture of thankfulness. He also requested special prayers for the martyrs and Ghazis, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the armed forces.



The Prime Minister noted that the nation remains supportive of its military, emphasizing the importance of unity and remembrance of those who have served.
