Islamabad: Pakistan is set to observe Youm-e-Istehsal this Monday, marking the anniversary of the revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019. The observance is intended to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and to highlight the ongoing tensions in the region.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi recently briefed diplomats in Islamabad on the current situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). During his briefing, Qazi emphasized the severe implications of India’s actions from the standpoints of international law, human rights, and regional peace and security.
