Islamabad, Dr. Umar Saif, the Caretaker Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, announced the launch of the Pakistan Startup Fund, scheduled for this Thursday.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in an interview with a private TV channel, Dr. Saif highlighted the significant achievements of Pakistani startups, which have attracted nearly $800 million in foreign investment over the past four years. He pointed out that Pakistan ranks as the seventh-largest market globally for mobile phones, with a user base of 75 million broadband users.
Additionally, Dr. Saif discussed ongoing initiatives to conduct tests for IT scholarships, reflecting the government’s dedication to nurturing talent and fostering innovation within the technology sector.
The launch of the Pakistan Startup Fund represents a pivotal step in bolstering the country’s tech industry and supporting entrepreneurial ventures.
