Pakistan to Initiate Legal Action Against Deported Citizens

Islamabad: The Pakistani government has announced plans to file First Information Reports (FIRs) against citizens deported from other countries and cancel their passports, following a high-level meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi. The decision includes placing deportees on a Passport Control List for a period of five years.

According to a statement by Press Information Department, the meeting was convened to address the challenges posed by deported individuals, whom the Interior Minister claimed are causing embarrassment for Pakistan internationally. A committee led by the Interior Secretary has been established to enhance the rules and regulations governing passports.

Key officials present at the meeting included Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency Riffat Mukhtar Raja, and Director General of Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi. The government has emphasized that no leniency will be shown to deportees in future as part of this new policy initiative.
