Pakistan to Hold General Elections on February 8 Despite Threat Alerts

Islamabad, Murtaza Solangi, the Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting, has confirmed that Pakistan’s general elections are set to take place on February 8, despite existing threat alerts.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Solangi, addressing the media in Islamabad, emphasized that such alerts, which are issued when there is a danger to people’s lives, will not impact the scheduled polling. He reassured the public that the relevant agencies are actively taking precautionary measures to ensure safety.

The Minister asserted that the current security situation in the country does not pose a threat to the execution of the elections. He recalled that Pakistan had successfully conducted elections under serious security concerns in both 2008 and 2013. Urging public confidence, Solangi called on the people to trust in the capabilities of the country’s security agencies and the divine protection of Allah Almighty.
