Islamabad: In a recent engagement with foreign media correspondents, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar projected that the upcoming SCO (Shanghai Cooperation Organization) summit will significantly enhance Pakistan’s global image. He detailed the nation’s advancements in foreign policy and economic development, pointing out successful high-profile diplomatic interactions and trade agreements.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Tarar underscored the progress Pakistan has made in opening up its economy to international trade and investment. He referenced the recent visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, which resulted in important discussions on bilateral relations and investment opportunities. Another significant event highlighted was the visit by a high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by the Saudi Minister of Investment. This visit culminated in the signing of several Memoranda of Understanding worth $2.2 billion, aimed at bolstering bilateral cooperation.
The Minister also touched on the anticipated visit of the Chinese Premier, which he described as a potential game changer for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He asserted that this visit would further enhance cooperation across various sectors between China and Pakistan.
Minister Tarar expressed confidence that Pakistan’s participation in the SCO summit would serve as a crucial opportunity to promote its positive image internationally, showcasing its readiness and capability in engaging productively on the global stage.
