Pakistan to Establish New Power Plants, Minister Leghari Announces

Islamabad: In a move to combat the persistent issue of power load-shedding, Minister for Power Division Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari announced government plans to establish new power plants across the country.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Leghari revealed the initiative while addressing the National Youth Convention. He acknowledged the high cost of power generation but reassured that the government continues to provide electricity at subsidized rates to mitigate the financial burden on consumers. Furthermore, Leghari hinted at forthcoming announcements from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, expected within the next month or two, which will detail positive changes to electricity tariffs for the public and industrial sectors.
