Pakistan to Establish Digitization Commission to Enhance Digital Economy

Islamabad: In a significant move towards boosting the digital economy, Minister of State for Information Technology, Shaza Fatima, announced the creation of a new Digitization Commission.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a news conference held in Islamabad, Shaza emphasized that the establishment of the Digitization Commission is part of a broader strategy to enhance the digitalization of Pakistan’s economy. She credited the Special Investment Facilitation Council for implementing measures that have already led to a noticeable increase in IT exports.

Additionally, the Minister of State addressed concerns about internet connectivity issues, denying any government action to slow down or shut off internet services. She explained that recent internet slowdowns were due to an overload of traffic, not governmental interference.
