Pakistan to Enhance Support for Overseas Citizens, Introduces Online Property Transfer Facility

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, announced significant initiatives to support Pakistani expatriates, including an online facility for property transfers and enhanced training for skilled workers heading abroad. These announcements were made during a press conference held yesterday at the Overseas Pakistanis Foundation (OPF) headquarters.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Hussain highlighted the crucial role of overseas Pakistanis as ambassadors of the country and detailed new measures aimed at easing their contributions and addressing common challenges. Notably, a new online service will enable Pakistanis in the United States, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Italy, and Spain to manage property transfers from abroad, with plans to resolve any related complaints within 20 days.

The Minister also addressed the issue of illegal migration and the negative perception it can create, urging legal paths and stating that the government is working to strengthen national institutions to support local employment and reduce the economic need to migrate. He revealed plans to send 2,000 IT professionals to Japan as part of these efforts.

Adding to this, Hussain mentioned discussions with the Mayor of New York about prioritizing Pakistanis for training in the paramedical field to better prepare them for opportunities abroad. This initiative reflects a broader strategy to ensure that Pakistanis are well-prepared and regarded as skilled, valuable workers internationally.

The new measures aim not only to assist Pakistanis abroad but also to prevent the issues that arise from illegal immigration and the exploitation of workers. The government’s focus on self-reliance and institution-building was underscored as essential to these efforts.
