Pakistan to Complete Road Network to China and Central Asia, Boosting Regional Trade

Islamabad: Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan announced plans to finalize the road network connecting Pakistan to China and Central Asian countries, aiming to enhance trade and economic integration in the region. This statement was made during his meeting with French Ambassador Nicolas Galle, where they discussed various bilateral trade opportunities and the privatization of loss-making institutions to bolster Pakistan’s economy.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Minister Khan emphasized the strategic importance of completing infrastructure projects such as the Karachi to Sukkur motorway. He asserted that these developments are critical not only for improving national transport logistics but also for ensuring that Pakistan can capitalize on its geographic position to become a central trade conduit between China, Central Asia, and beyond.

The French envoy expressed France’s keen interest in expanding its investment and business footprint in Pakistan, exploring opportunities across diverse sectors. The meeting also covered proposals to enhance bilateral trade relations, reflecting a mutual interest in deepening economic ties.
