Pakistan to Address Global and Regional Issues at OIC Session in Yaounde

Islamabad: Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi is set to represent Pakistan at the 50th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) scheduled for 29-30 August 2024 in Yaounde, Cameroon.

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Foreign Secretary will present Pakistan’s stance on several critical issues during the session, including the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the rising tensions caused by Israel in the Middle East, and the continued struggle for self-determination in Jammu and Kashmir. Additionally, he will address broader themes such as the unity within the Muslim community, increasing Islamophobia and xenophobia globally, and pressing global challenges like climate change and terrorism.

The Foreign Secretary also plans to engage in bilateral discussions with his counterparts from other OIC member states, aiming to strengthen diplomatic ties and foster mutual support on these significant issues.
