Pakistan to Accelerate Privatization of Key State-Owned Enterprises


Islamabad, The Finance Minister announced a significant acceleration in the privatization process for several key state-owned enterprises, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Rosevelete Hotel, House Building Finance Corporation, and First Women Bank.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, twelve companies have shown interest in acquiring the national flag carrier, PIA. Muhammad Aurangzeb also noted that six of these companies have been pre-qualified by the board of the Privatization Commission to move forward in the process. This move is part of the government’s broader strategy to improve the efficiency and financial health of major public sector entities.
