Pakistan Supports UN Report Criticizing Israel’s Actions in Palestine.

Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed its support for the recent report by the UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, which criticizes Israel for alleged acts of forced displacement, genocide, and obstruction of international investigations in Gaza and the West Bank. The report highlights concerns surrounding territorial expansion and ethnic cleansing perpetrated against Palestinians.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a weekly news briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch emphasized Pakistan’s endorsement of the UN Special Rapporteur’s stance. She noted that Israel’s actions have hindered international efforts by denying access to UN fact-finding teams. Pakistan supports the call for decisive international action to halt Israel’s actions and ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza and support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

The Spokesperson also voiced Pakistan’s concerns over the treatment of relief workers and the targeting of hospitals and vaccination centers in the region. In response to questions about Pakistan’s relations with the United States, Baloch conveyed congratulations from the President and Prime Minister to President-elect Donald Trump. She expressed hope for strengthened ties between Pakistan and the United States, emphasizing mutual respect and non-interference in domestic affairs.

Addressing inquiries about the Indian illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Assembly’s resolution on restoring special status, Baloch reiterated Pakistan’s well-known stance. She emphasized the right of the people of Jammu and Kashmir to determine their future and warned against measures that contradict international law and UN Security Council resolutions. She urged India to respect the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination and their aspirations for freedom as recognized by the UN.
