Pakistan Supports Ceasefire in Gaza, Calls for Implementation

Islamabad: Pakistan has expressed its support for a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, urging for its immediate and comprehensive enforcement. The ceasefire, reached on January 15, 2025, is seen as a potential pathway to a permanent cessation of hostilities and an increase in humanitarian aid to the region.

According to a statement by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the indiscriminate use of force by Israeli occupation forces has resulted in significant loss of life and property, displacing hundreds of thousands of Palestinian civilians. The ministry criticized what it described as Israel’s expansionist actions, which it claims have contributed to regional instability.

Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to a lasting and equitable resolution to the Palestinian conflict. The country supports the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state based on borders existing before June 1967, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
