Islamabad, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja has lauded the people of Pakistan for the smooth and successful completion of the General Elections. The vote counting process has begun following the end of polling.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan, Mr. Raja, in a televised address to the nation, praised the secure and efficient management of the electoral process. Despite minor issues at some polling stations, the Election Commission responded promptly to ensure the election’s integrity.
The Chief Election Commissioner also assured that the results of the General Election 2024 would be released as soon as they are confirmed. He expressed gratitude to international observers and media for their presence, which contributed to the transparency of the election proceedings.
The Election Commission’s spokesperson echoed Mr. Raja’s statements and highlighted the importance of the international community’s role in observing the elections.

The timely alert issued by the authorities following the heavy snowfall last week appears to have been effective in preventing any adverse outcomes from the avalanche.
The region of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly its higher elevations, is prone to avalanches, especially following significant snowfall, which poses a risk to both residents and travelers in the area.
