Islamabad: Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh of Pakistan to the United States has recently engaged in pivotal discussions with the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee, centering on fortifying bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the dialogue spanned various topics, notably enhancing professional opportunities for Pakistanis in the U.S. and bolstering the efforts of APPAC to strengthen community connections. A key element of the conversations was the promotion of investments in Pakistan’s vital sectors such as healthcare, education, IT, and skilled labor, all under the auspices of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).
The Ambassador reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to facilitating and supporting the business and investment relationships between the U.S. and Pakistan, aiming for reciprocal advantages. He commended APPAC’s work in advancing common objectives, particularly through the Sister States arrangements between New York and Pakistan’s Punjab and Sindh provinces.
Furthermore, Ambassador Sheikh also convened with representatives from the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America New York Chapter, led by Dr. Shamim Salman. This meeting focused on enhancing Pak-US cooperation within the healthcare sector. The Ambassador praised the Chapter’s contributions to reinforcing bilateral ties in the social and humanitarian sectors, committing to ongoing support for collaborative efforts.
