Islamabad, Pakistan has embarked on a significant agreement with Brazil to import high breed cattle, a move aimed at enhancing the agricultural and livestock sector under the Green Pakistan Initiative facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the pact involves the importation of nine breeds of cattle from Brazil, reflecting a strategic effort to improve livestock quality and production capabilities within Pakistan. FONGROW, a company established as part of the Green Pakistan Initiative, has been instrumental in forging this important agreement, marking a milestone in the bilateral relations and trade potentials between the two countries.

In an interview, the Brazilian Ambassador to Pakistan, Olyntho Vieira, highlighted the immense potential for increased bilateral trade between Brazil and Pakistan. He also reminisced about the historical exchange of red Sindhi cattle from Pakistan to Brazil in the 1950s, noting that the breed has been well-preserved in Brazil to this day. This historical context underscores the longstanding agricultural and livestock trading ties between the two nations, setting a precedent for future cooperation and mutual benefit.
