London, Pakistan is highlighting its technological prowess this week at London Tech Week 2024, promoting its burgeoning tech industry under the brand “Tech Destination Pakistan.” The event, a major gathering of the global tech community, features Pakistan prominently through a dedicated pavilion that was inaugurated by the High Commissioner of Pakistan to the United Kingdom, H.E. Dr. Mohammad Faisal.
According to High Commission For Pakistan – United Kingdom, the Tech Destination Pakistan Pavilion is showcasing nine leading IT/ITeS companies, emphasizing areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), cloud solutions, software development, cybersecurity, robotics, and e-commerce. This participation is a collaborative effort supported by the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), Pakistan IT industry Association (P@SHA), and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
The sector’s significant growth has been marked by a consistent increase in IT exports, particularly to the UK, making it the second-largest market for Pakistan’s IT/ITeS sectors. This growth is sustained by an infrastructure of over 100 Software Technology Parks, a robust talent pool of 600,000 IT professionals, and a dynamic startup ecosystem. The ongoing success of Pakistani tech firms is part of a broader strategy to promote Pakistan as a key player in the global tech industry.
