Islamabad: A two-member Pakistani parliamentary delegation is set to attend the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA) meeting in Doha, Qatar. The delegation, led by PML-N’s Parliamentary Party Leader in the Senate, Irfan Siddiqui, and including PPP leader and Member of the National Assembly Mirza Ikhtiar Baig, departs on Monday for the two-day event.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the APA’s Standing Committee on Budget and Planning will hold a four-day meeting starting Friday. The assembly will address a two-point agenda focusing on budgeting and planning issues. The meeting underscores Pakistan’s role as an active participant in the APA, which comprises 43 countries from the region, including major powers and several observer states.
This engagement is part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to play a significant role in regional parliamentary dynamics, promoting dialogue and cooperation among Asian nations.
