Baghdad, In a high-level diplomatic engagement, the Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, met with Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, the acting Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, in Baghdad today. The leaders engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and addressing shared regional challenges.
According to Senate of Pakistan, During the meeting, Mr. Mohsen Al-Mandalawi warmly welcomed Chairman Senate and his delegation, expressing appreciation for the growing ties between Pakistan and Iraq. The talks centered around enhancing parliamentary exchanges, fostering closer ties, and addressing shared challenges. Chairman Sanjrani commended the Iraqi leadership’s efforts in fortifying democracy and combating terrorism and urged for an increased collaboration between Pakistan and Iraq, particularly in the economic and trade sectors. He highlighted the potential for growth and development through joint initiatives between the two nations.
A significant portion of the discussion was dedicated to the current situation in Palestine. Both leaders condemned the actions of the Zionist Israeli regime, referring to them as barbaric acts of genocide. They called for an immediate ceasefire and the lifting of the illegal blockade on Gaza, emphasizing the need for a peaceful resolution.
