Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the significant potential for cooperation between Pakistan and Russia across various sectors, emphasizing its potential to drive development and benefit their populations.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Sharif discussed these opportunities during a meeting with Valentina Matvienko, the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly, in Islamabad. He noted the recent visits by Russian leaders as promising for enhancing bilateral relations between the two nations.
The Prime Minister expressed optimism about the upcoming Pakistan-Russia Joint Commission meeting scheduled for December, seeing it as a crucial moment to broaden cooperative efforts. During the meeting, Sharif extended his best wishes to Russian President Vladimir Putin and invited him to visit Pakistan.
Discussions between the two sides also focused on strengthening banking channels to boost trade and investment, as well as developing a comprehensive roadmap for economic, trade, and investment collaboration between Pakistan and Russia.
