Pakistan Seeks to Enhance Trade Ties with Central Asia


Islamabad: In a significant step towards bolstering regional trade, Minister for Privatization and Board of Investment Abdul Aleem Khan outlined Pakistan’s strategy to deepen economic relations with Central Asian nations. This announcement was made during a meeting with Kazakhstan Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin in Islamabad, focusing on improving connectivity and trade routes among the countries.



According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Abdul Aleem Khan emphasized the importance of enhancing connectivity through air, rail, and road networks to facilitate increased trade and business interactions with the region. He highlighted the use of Karachi port by Kazakhstan for its exports bound for Dubai as an example of existing cooperation that can be expanded.



The Kazakh Ambassador took the opportunity to invite Minister Khan to participate in the upcoming Trade and Logistics Forum, which will include representatives from 12 countries. This event is scheduled to take place in Aktau, Kazakhstan, on the 19th and 20th of this month, marking the first North-South Transport and Logistics Forum aimed at improving regional trade dynamics.
