Pakistan Seeks to Enhance Aviation Capabilities Through Turkish Collaboration

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, engaged in strategic discussions with Mr. Mehmat T. Nane, Chairperson of Pegasus Airlines, and Mr. Muhammad Ali Tabba, CEO of Lucky Cement Limited, focusing on advancing Pakistan’s aviation sector through Turkish expertise.

According to Ministry of Finance announcement issued on 23 August 2024, Mr. Nane outlined the Turkish aviation strategy and its potential applicability to Pakistan, aiming to boost local aviation capabilities by drawing on Turkey’s robust industry experience. Senator Aurangzeb expressed admiration for Turkey’s aviation achievements and noted the importance of such collaborations in realizing the Prime Minister’s vision for Pakistan’s aviation sector enhancement.

The meeting also referenced recent dialogues with the Turkish Trade Minister, underscoring a concerted effort to deepen trade and economic ties between Pakistan and Turkey, particularly in aviation. Today’s discussions are seen as a pivotal step towards strengthening these bilateral relations and improving Pakistan’s aviation infrastructure.
