Pakistan Seeks to Bolster Trade and Business with UAE, Says Information Minister

Islamabad, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has articulated Pakistan’s intent to strengthen trade and business relations with the United Arab Emirates, aligning with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s strategic vision.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in a meeting with UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi in Islamabad, Minister Tarar highlighted the significance of crafting a shared strategy to boost economic ties between the two nations. He pointed out the deep-rooted connections that exist between Pakistan and the UAE, underscored by shared heritage and collaborative endeavors, noting the UAE’s status as a second home for many Pakistanis.

During the discussions, the minister and the ambassador delved into various aspects of mutual interest, including enhancing bilateral relations and fostering cooperation across multiple sectors. Minister Tarar briefed the ambassador on Pakistan’s current economic policies, mentioning the ongoing tax reforms within the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and initiatives toward the digitalization of the economy.

Ambassador Al-Zaabi expressed condemnation of the recent terrorist attack in Besham, reaffirming the UAE’s continued support for Pakistan, especially in times of crisis. He emphasized the mutual aspirations for advancing bilateral relations, reflecting the guidance of both countries’ leaderships, and reiterated the UAE’s commitment to assisting Pakistan’s economic progression.

The meeting underlined the mutual desire to expand the scope of collaboration, promising a future of increased partnership in trade and business between Pakistan and the UAE.
