Pakistan Seeks Lasting Solution for Kashmir Dispute, Denies Involvement in Pahalgam Incident

Washington: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has emphasized the need for a lasting resolution to the Kashmir dispute to ensure peace in the region. His comments came during an interview with Newsweek, where he also firmly denied any involvement of Pakistan in the recent Pahalgam attack.

Sheikh highlighted that Pakistan is concentrating on the geo-economic aspects of its geography and foreign policy. He stated that the nation prefers peace, aligning with its economic objectives, and seeks to avoid conflict.

However, the ambassador stressed that Pakistan’s pursuit of peace is coupled with a desire for dignity. He asserted that the country is prepared to defend its territorial integrity if a conflict arises.

These remarks underscore Pakistan’s stance on maintaining regional stability while focusing on economic growth, amid ongoing tensions in the area.
