Washington DC: In a strategic move to strengthen economic relations, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Mr. Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with Ms. Reta Jo Lewis, President of the Export-Import (EXIM) Bank of the United States, discussing potential enhancements in collaborative efforts between the two nations’ EXIM Banks.
According to Press Information Department, during the meeting, Minister Aurangzeb emphasized the importance of closer cooperation and welcomed the US EXIM Bank’s interest in the energy, minerals, and IT sectors of Pakistan. He committed to providing the necessary data to aid the Bank’s assessment for market entry. Additionally, the Minister sought detailed clarifications on the US nexus requirements which dictate the eligibility for goods and services to be financed or insured by the EXIM Bank.
This dialogue marks a significant step towards facilitating potential investments and expanding the economic relationship between Pakistan and the United States, with a focus on critical sectors that promise growth and development.
