Islamabad: Pakistan aims to bolster its collaboration with the World Economic Forum (WEF) across various sectors, focusing on initiatives that directly benefit its citizens, especially women, young people, and businesses. A meeting chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb reviewed strategies to enhance Pakistan’s leadership within the WEF.
The committee discussed compiling a complete inventory of current WEF projects in the nation, evaluating their advancement, and pinpointing implementation challenges. Cooperation prospects in crucial domains such as investment and financial expansion, digitization, and emerging tech like AI, skills training, and productive jobs, and environmental protection were also explored.
The meeting prioritized greater Pakistani involvement in discussions regarding “future of jobs” and promoting higher female workforce engagement. Improving Pakistan’s ranking in the Global Gender Gap Index was also addressed.
The Minister expressed gratitude for the participants’ contributions and anticipates that the committee’s discussions will lead to a systematic, collaborative approach to Pakistan’s future WEF interactions, underscoring the government’s dedication to establishing the nation as a proactive participant in shaping the global financial landscape.
