Pakistan Secures Russian Market for Seafood Exports with 16 Firms Approved

Islamabad: Sixteen Pakistani companies have received the green light to export seafood to Russia, marking a significant development in the country’s fisheries sector. The announcement was made by the Minister for Maritime Affairs, Junaid Anwar Chaudhry, who highlighted this as a pivotal moment for Pakistan’s seafood industry.

According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister expressed optimism that the entry into the Russian market could pave the way for access to other member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, potentially broadening Pakistan’s export horizons. Chaudhry projected that the country’s annual seafood exports could rise from $500 million to $800 million with this new market opportunity.

He further stated that the export operations will utilize sea, air, and land routes, ensuring a multifaceted approach to reaching the Russian market.
