Islamabad, In a significant development for job creation, Pakistan has successfully secured several Agreements and Letters of Intent (LOIs) with top Qatari companies, a move led by the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (SAPM OP and HRD), Jawad Sohrab Malik.
According to Ministry of Overseas Pakistani and Human Resource Development, the agreements were signed with renowned Qatari firms such as Qatari Diyar-Saudi Bin Laden Group Construction (QD-SBG), Hamad Bin Khaled Contracting Company W.L.L (HBK), Ali Bin Ali Holding W.L.L, and others. This marks a critical step in bolstering bilateral relations between Pakistan and Qatar, specifically in the field of human resource development.
During the visit, SAPM Malik engaged in a pivotal meeting with Mr. Hamad Saleh Al Qamra, Chairman of Al Qamra Holding, concentrating on recruiting Pakistani manpower for their projects. He also toured the View Hospital, part of Elegancia Health Care, emphasizing the ongoing recruitment of Pakistani health professionals following a recent MoU between Elegancia Health Care and Pakistan’s Overseas Employment Corporation (OEC).
These initiatives aim to expand employment opportunities for Pakistani workers in Qatar. Malik highlighted Pakistan’s potential as a leading manpower exporter and discussed the government’s efforts in enhancing recruitment quality, skill development, and meeting the requirements of foreign employers.
The CEOs of the Qatari companies expressed their contentment with the performance of the Pakistani workforce and their eagerness to increase its presence in their companies, complying with Qatari governmental regulations. The discussions also highlighted the rising demand for skilled labor in various sectors, including services, maintenance, hospitality, and construction, especially considering Qatar’s substantial infrastructural growth.
Furthermore, Malik conducted in-depth individual meetings with Qatar’s Labour Minister, Interior Minister, and Education Minister during his three-day visit.
These agreements and discussions signify a major advancement in increasing the Pakistani workforce’s role in Qatar, fostering mutual economic development and stronger bilateral relations.
