Jeddah, In a recent meeting in Saudi Arabia, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman emphasized the necessity of dialogue between Pakistan and India to address and potentially resolve the Kashmir issue, underlining its significance for regional peace and stability.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the discussions took place during Sharif’s first international visit since taking office, highlighting the strategic relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The talks were aimed at reinforcing the fraternal ties between the two nations and identifying opportunities for deeper cooperation in various sectors.
The leaders’ dialogue on Kashmir comes against the backdrop of ongoing tensions and longstanding disputes between Pakistan and India, with both countries holding differing views on the region’s status and future.
Additionally, during his visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif performed Umrah, and special access was granted for him to pray inside the Kaaba. Sharif’s prayers focused on the prosperity of Pakistan, the unity of the Muslim world, and global peace, with specific invocations for the oppressed populations in Palestine and occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting between Sharif and Prince Mohammed Bin Salman reflects a mutual interest in fostering stability in South Asia, particularly through diplomatic engagement on the Kashmir dispute.
