Islamabad, At a ceremony marking the Romanian National Day, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Jawad Sohrab Malik, celebrated the growing ties between Pakistan and Romania. His address highlighted the increasing collaboration and mutual commitment to growth between the two nations.
According to Ministry of Overseas Pakistani and Human Resource Development, the event was attended by Romanian Chargés d’affaires, Eduard-Robert Preda, and other dignitaries. SAPM Malik underscored the importance of Romania as a key partner for Pakistan, emphasizing the dynamic sectors and welcoming environment in Romania that have been instrumental in fostering economic, cultural, and diplomatic relations.
The SAPM noted that in the past five years, 8912 Pakistani workers have found employment in various sectors in Romania, showcasing the positive impact of bilateral cooperation. He also mentioned the proactive efforts of the Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment in exploring job opportunities for Pakistani workers in Romania.
Furthermore, Malik reaffirmed the Pakistani government’s intention to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Romania on labor migration. This MoU aims to establish a structured framework for facilitating safe, orderly, and regular labor migration and addressing potential challenges.
In concluding his address, SAPM Malik reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to sustainable collaboration with Romanian employers, ensuring lawful overseas employment opportunities for both skilled and unskilled Pakistani workers. He also extended warm wishes from the Government of Pakistan to Romania on the occasion of their National Day.
