Islamabad, Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in agriculture by becoming the fifth largest sesame producer in the world, with exports surpassing four hundred million dollars this year.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the rise in sesame production is a direct result of concerted efforts between the provincial governments and the Ministry, under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) funded project, the National Oilseeds Enhancement Program.
This achievement marks a notable shift in Pakistan’s agricultural sector, positioning sesame as a key cash crop and demonstrating the country’s growing potential in agricultural exports.
