Pakistan Responds to India’s Allegations on Pahalgam Incident

Tehran: Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran, Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, addressed the media today, articulating Pakistan’s stance on the recent Pahalgam incident in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir. Tipu criticized India’s response to the attack, which occurred on April 30, 2025, and detailed Pakistan’s concerns about regional stability and India’s actions.

Ambassador Tipu emphasized that the region faces a significant threat to peace due to what he described as India’s politically motivated and provocative environment following the attack. He reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of terrorism in all its forms, expressing concern over the loss of innocent lives.

Tipu conveyed Pakistan’s condolences to the victims of the Pahalgam attack, highlighting Pakistan’s own experiences as a victim of terrorism. He noted Pakistan’s engagement with the UN Security Council, which issued a statement condemning the incident.

In his remarks, Tipu accused India of celebrating its assassination campaigns and sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan. He dismissed suggestions of Pakistan’s involvement in the Pahalgam incident, criticizing the media hype generated by India.

Ambassador Tipu accused India of using unsubstantiated allegations as part of a disinformation strategy and diverting attention from its internal issues, including security failures and oppression in Jammu and Kashmir. He stated that India’s actions on August 5, 2019, violated UN resolutions and international law.

The ambassador raised concerns about India’s narrative against Kashmiris and Indian Muslims, which he described as inflammatory and Islamophobic. He criticized India for making allegations against Pakistan without evidence and demanded an independent probe.

Tipu also addressed India’s recent actions, including holding the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, labeling them illegal and irresponsible. He warned that such actions threaten regional stability and Pakistan’s economy.

The ambassador concluded by asserting Pakistan’s commitment to peace and stability while reserving the right to defend its sovereignty. He urged the international community to distinguish between sympathy for victims and endorsement of what he termed Indian belligerence.
