Pakistan Rejects Indian Prime Minister’s Remarks as Detrimental to Regional Peace

Islamabad: Pakistan has dismissed the recent remarks made by the Indian Prime Minister in Drass, Ladakh, terming them as detrimental to the peace efforts in the region. The comments, which were made in the context of the longstanding disputes between the two nations, particularly over Jammu and Kashmir, were criticized for being inflammatory and unproductive.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mumtaz Zahra Baloch, spokesperson for Pakistan’s Foreign Office, emphasized that such rhetoric does not distract from the international community’s awareness of India’s aggressive policies in Jammu and Kashmir. These policies, aim to quell the Kashmiri people’s legitimate and recognized right to self-determination through oppressive measures.

The statement further criticized India’s position on terrorism, suggesting that India should introspect its own actions in the region, including alleged orchestrations of targeted killings and acts of subversion and terrorism in neighboring territories.
