Pakistan Rejects Indian Defense Minister’s Kashmir Claims as Distortion

Islamabad: Pakistan’s political leadership has collectively dismissed Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh’s assertions regarding Kashmir as “totally baseless and delusional.”

According to a statement by Kashmir Media Service, Singh’s remarks were criticized as an attempt to distort the historical facts surrounding the Kashmir issue and to undermine the ongoing struggle for self-determination in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

Pakistan highlighted that these claims are viewed as part of a broader strategy by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to appease certain political groups, specifically among Hindu elites, amid declining credibility and increasing criticism domestically and internationally.

Rajnath Singh, during his address in Akhnoor, Jammu, referred to Azad Jammu and Kashmir as an integral part of India, describing it as India’s “crown jewel” and asserting it as foreign to Pakistan. He further claimed that India remains incomplete without Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

In response, Pakistan emphasized that the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, as demonstrated in the recent IIOJK assembly elections, have overwhelmingly rejected the BJP’s narrative and claims. Despite India’s continuous efforts to malign Pakistan and its security agencies, including the ISI, the international community is reportedly becoming more aware of India’s disinformation campaigns.
