Pakistan Reiterates Stance on Arms Race with India

Islamabad: Pakistan is not participating in an arms race with neighboring India, according to Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Chaudhry emphasized Pakistan’s focus on integrating effective and efficient military platforms, including those developed indigenously and those sourced from China, into its armed forces.

Chaudhry highlighted the performance of Pakistani weapon systems, particularly during the recent Marka-e-Haq operation. He noted that India had not succeeded in downing any Pakistani aircraft during this operation, underscoring the capabilities of Pakistan’s defense technology.

The DG ISPR also stressed Pakistan’s commitment to transparency in military development, asserting that the country has not attempted to manipulate or conceal information related to its defense capabilities.

This statement from the military spokesperson comes amid ongoing regional tensions, with both Pakistan and India maintaining significant defense budgets. The emphasis, Chaudhry noted, remains on maintaining an efficient defense strategy rather than engaging in an arms buildup.
