Pakistan Reinforces Commitment to Enhance SCO’s Security and Development Goals

Beijing, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan’s dedication to furthering the security and development cooperation agenda of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). This commitment was emphasized during his meeting with SCO Secretary-General Ambassador Zhang Ming in Beijing.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ishaq Dar affirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the SCO Charter and the foundational principles of the ‘Shanghai Spirit,’ which champions mutual respect, equality, and shared growth among member states. Recognizing the significant potential of the SCO region, Dar highlighted the collective responsibility of member states to work collaboratively towards the sustained progress and prosperity of the region.

The discussions also covered Pakistan’s role and initiatives during its current chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of Government, where it continues to push forward the organization’s objectives. Ambassador Zhang Ming expressed the SCO Secretariat’s ongoing support for Pakistan throughout its tenure, reflecting a mutual commitment to strengthen the organization’s goals and initiatives.
